Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

Hi everyone!!

I know there have been a lot of requests for photos, so here are the latest! Scott is already coming up on 4 weeks old already, I can't believe it. He loves holding his head up and Ryan has even seen him push up his whole chest with his hands. He is starting to focus on objects more and likes his toys that make noise and light up.

We have been very active in the last few weeks. Grandma Litton visited for a week and then Grandma Dunn visited for a week. Ryan, Scott and I did our first outing as a family on Saturday, we made a trip to the grocery store together. Scott did very well, (he slept the whole time). He loves motion of the car rides. This weekend was a big milestone for Scott. He got his first real bath on Sunday. We were waiting until his umbilical cord completely fell off to let him sit in water. He was startled when we first put him in, but only a second later he was enjoying himself.

We hope everyone has a great week. We can't wait for the weather to really pick up so we can start going for walks!

More Pictures

Hi Everyone,

We are doing great. Ryan and I are loving our time with Scott, he is very loved with lots of kisses. He had a dr appointment last Tuesday and he was right on track. He goes again this Wednesday and we are sure he will have gained back his birth weight. The boy is a very healthy eater. He is also holding his head up more and more everyday... he will definitely be ahead of schedule with that milestone.

Most of the nights Scott has allowed me to catch up on some winks with him, he is being very nice to mommy. Hope you enjoy the pictures we post.

Love, the Dunn Family

We are home!!

We liked the security of having endless nurses handy to answer any questions that we had, but it feels good to be relaxing at home now. We are very tired as we adjust to Scott's growing appetite, but he is doing great so far.

Congratulations to Kathy Cutright!!! She is taking FIRST PLACE in the baby pool!!! She was 2 days off on the date, but was very close to weight. [1,000 - 2 (date) - 4.5 (weight, half point for each ounce) = 993.5]

Grandpa Dunn is second place, just off 5 days. Thanks to everyone who played, we had a great time planning this!!

Here are some of the pictures from the last few days.

We are doing great!!

Hi Everyone, it's Mommy. I'm doing great recovering from the c-section, thanks for all the great congrat notes, Ryan has been saving all of them for the baby book. All three of us are being very well taken care of here. The hospital staff has been wonderful. We are planning to go home tomorrow morning-ish and Scott already has his first dr appointment on Tuesday afternoon.

We have been taking lots of pictures and will have them uploaded to share tomorrow after we get settled at home. The hospital took its pictures today (of course you know I'll be doing the same thing once I get home and more mobile), but these did turn out good.

Last Dr's appointment

Well, Ryan and I attended our last dr appointment today. It was very short and sweet. Baby is still breech so we are on for Wednesday morning!! I'm expecting a call from the hospital sometime on Tuesday for my final instructions (no eating past midnight kind of thing).

Finally asked the question of "how big is baby"... Dr. seemed pretty confident when she said she expects baby to be close to 8 1/2 pounds!!! Guess I've been feeding baby pretty good over the past 9 months... I put these new estimates in the baby pool calculator and with each ounce being a half a point; we have 2 new entries taking the lead!!! Erika would be a likely winner if she is correct with Girl or her mom, Kathy, would be a likely winner if she is correct with Boy. Both picked the 22nd and expected Ryan and I to produce a very healthy baby. There are still lots of people who would be very close.. It’s still anybody's game!!!

I plan on enjoying my last vacation day getting spoiled with a manicure and pedicure thanks to my boss, Helen, who gave me a gift certificate. This will probably be our last entry before sharing our big news. Ryan will try to get the announcement on the blog after things settle down from the surgery. We will try to have pictures posted as soon as possible too but my goal is to have pictures online by Sunday. Don't worry; there will be tons of pictures... anyone who knows us with a camera know we go crazy.

Love and thanks to everyone who has supported us during the last 9 months, we can't wait to share our most exciting post with you!!

Yup... still breech

Well, we don't have much of an update to give out. I've been seeing the dr's weekly and today we did a super quick ultrasound just to verify the position of the baby. We are definitely breech.

Everything is set and ready to go... Ryan got the car seat put in the car this weekend. I've been joking with Ryan that baby was not going to come out unless he/she had "a safe ride home". Car seats can be very tricky so I'm going to try to make it over to one of the fire departments this week for them to inspect the install.

Ryan has been good about helping me nest. I put him to work this weekend!! I'm officially done working now. I'm taking this week off to visit with friends and take care of things around the house.

Well, just one more dr. appointment next Monday. Luckily, Ryan has the day off so he can go with me. We'll keep you posted!

Finally... our big news... and Nursery Pictures!

Well, we found out at the dr.'s appointment on Monday that Baby Dunn is breech... This leaves us with 2 options, they could attempt to turn the baby externally, but the success rate is only 50% and with my shorter torso, the odds would not be in my favor. The other option was to schedule a Cesarean. We decided that a Cesarean would be best for us. The dr. said it is possible that the baby would turn on their own, but not to expect it, especially since she says the butt has already planted itself in my pelvis. I will continue to go to the dr every Monday from now until I deliver and they will check every time. They will even do a last minute ultrasound the morning of the c-section to double verify that the procedure is still necessary. If anything changes, then I will go back to a regular delivery and be sent back home to wait. There is also the possibility that I could go into labor before my c-section date, in which case, they would perform the c-section at that time.

So... now the big news is.. when is baby coming??? Well, the Cesarean has been scheduled for February 20th!!!! This is still very close to my due date, so there is the strong possibility that I could go into labor before this date.

What happens to the baby pool?? Well, since we did not get the luxury of picking the date (the hospital did from a provided range of dates given by my dr), we will keep the pool on. So... from the looks of it, we have 3 really strong players who would be in the running for the first place prize!!!! Sue Holland has the date right on the nose, but if she is wrong about the sex, it could jump over to the closest Boy guesses which are from Donnie Tolen and Jen Pinnell both on 2/21... it may come down to how much Baby Dunn weighs... It's still anybody's game since we still have 3 weeks until the 20th, you never know what Baby Dunn will do!!!

And Finally... we are unveiling the grand opening of Baby Dunn's Nursery... Ryan and I are both very pleased with how it turned out and thanks to a little assistance from both sets of Grandparents... we have a gorgeous furniture set that we plan to use for many, many, years.. The crib does convert to toddler bed and then to an adult bed. We hope you enjoy!!!

Pictures from Baby Dunn's Shower

It was a great shower.. Ryan and I were so happy to see everyone!! We hope you enjoy the pictures. We got so many great things, everyone was very generous.

The baby furniture is being delivered on Monday... I'm very excited because then I can start to put the room together... Finally!!! Those will be the next set of pictures.

I'm going to the Dr weekly now... another sign that this is the home stretch!!! I did have an elevated blood pressure, but they said it could be due to the swelling. I go again on Monday so we will be able to keep an eye on it.

Like the new pictures?

Well, January is flying by for us!!! Ryan's new job is going good. He is getting spoiled with free lunch every Friday and today even got a free massage!!! We have been very busy with all the baby classes. We attended Baby Basics, where we learned to give baby a bath, change diapers, take temperatures and install car seats... We also attended an Art of Breast-feeding class and we are half way done with Lamaze!!! We have a great teacher and she definitely knows Ryan on a first name basis... He is the official question asker of the group. Ryan told her that she better be our delivery nurse after all the time we have spent with her.

We asked my boss's husband to take some pregnancy pictures of us. Our favorite 2 are on the website... Ryan and I may try to take few more, just for fun. We continue to update the "Watch Baby Grow" video. We usually take pictures every other weekend. I think Ryan's favorite part of this pregnancy has been the looking for "Expecting Mothers" parking spots at all the places we go. He's been dying to park in these spots.

This weekend we will be down in Paris for Christmas with my side of the family and my baby shower on Sunday which I have been very excited to attend. I haven't seen much of my family since Thanksgiving so they will get to see first hand how big my belly has grown.

Next Dr. appointment is on Monday. Ryan has the day off and I'm playing hooky so we can spend the day together. We figure days like this are dwindling fast so we better take advantage of them.

Don't forget, we are still taking guesses for the baby pool!! We'll send out another post when we have pictures from the shower... Love Ryan and Jessica
